Protection of Pygmy adolescent girls in Lukwangulo (DRC).
The aim of this project is to save the lives of displaced indigenous Pygmy adolescent girls who are victims of child marriage and sexual violence, through social, professional and educational reintegration.
Through community mediation, family reintegration and awareness-raising on gender-based violence, 40 adolescent girls who are survivors of forced marriages and early unions – and who have returned to and been reintegrated into their families – will benefit from a return to school (for those of school age) or socio-professional reintegration through short-term training (apprenticeships) in entrepreneurship (vocational skills), by setting up collective income-generating activities to provide financial support to households, improve the socio-economic stability of the most vulnerable families and help transform the lives of the beneficiaries by creating a better future.
