CONSTATS

Collaboration with the FGM network (Belgium).

To protect and support people who have undergone, or are at risk of undergoing, female genital mutilation (FGM) as part of the assessments carried out by Constats asbl to recognise acts of violence and torture in the country of origin.

To strengthen the skills of general practitioners at the Constats non-profit organisation, who are trained to detect and listen to accounts of FGM, and to provide support within the healthcare network whilst taking intercultural aspects into account.

To collect statistical data, participate in advocacy work for the FGM network, and promote the detailed reports drawn up in relation to FGM and forced marriages.
