Girls Dream Labs.
EDOU will enroll 25 girls at-risk of child marriage and former child brides in a one-year skills-based training to acquire business management and entrepreneurial skills. Training subjects will include saving and investment, records keeping and basic accounting, sales and marketing, customer service, among others.
Two girls with qualifications will be selected to enroll at university in practical, STEM courses such as health sciences, business administration, economics, ICT and computer science to pursue their university education dreams. This is aimed at breaking the bias and stigma around former child brides attaining university education particularly in STEM fields.
The Girl Dream Labs will enable girls to acquire support networks and to share lived experiences.
EDOU will also develop a skills training handbook to train at least 1,000 girls in business management and entrepreneurship every year through the Girls Not Brides Uganda Partnership.
