Preventing child, early and forced marriage through education retention (Malawi).
The project aims to prevent child, early, and forced marriage among 80 at-risk girls aged 12–17 in Zomba District, Malawi, by keeping them in school.
It removes economic barriers by providing fees, uniforms, and supplies and trains 20 mother groups and 15 male champions to identify at-risk girls and mediate with families.
It runs weekly safe spaces to equip girls with sexual and reproductive health and rights knowledge, rights awareness, and negotiation skills.
And it engages 20 chiefs and religious leaders to enforce community bylaws against child, early, and forced marriage.
